The Roof Structure is Up!  National Volunteers Week and "Roof Wetting" Ceremony

During National Volunteers Week we celebrated our Volunteers and the new Roof.
Dawn Fraser, a supporter of Sunshine Coast RDA, was on hand to present Years of Service pins to our volunteers. A special Life Membership Award and pin was presented to June Bedville for her 25 years of voluntary service to RDA on the Sunshine Coast.

Financial supporters who allowed the construction of the 90 x 30 m roof were also invited for a "Roof Wetting" ceremony. The local Rural Fire Brigade did the honours by turning the hoses on the new roof whilst politicians and supporters watched and applauded, which was then followed by light refreshments.
This new roof will be of immense value to our riders and volunteers alike, in both wet conditions and in extreme heat.
